Terms of Service
1. Acceptance
By downloading or using Mindful Finance (the “App”), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. What the App is
The App shows you a calm daily view of your discretionary spending, derived from the bank accounts you choose to connect. It is an awareness tool for informational purposes only.
3. Not financial advice
The App does not provide financial, investment, tax, legal, or accounting advice. The numbers and status phrases it shows are informational signals, not recommendations. You are solely responsible for your financial decisions. Always verify important figures against your bank’s official records.
4. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the App.
5. Your account
Your account is created automatically and anonymously; no email or password is required. You are responsible for the device on which the App is used. You may delete your account and data at any time from Settings → Delete my data.
6. Bank connections and third-party services
The App uses Plaid to connect to your financial institutions. By connecting an account, you also agree to the Plaid end-user services agreement and acknowledge the Plaid end-user privacy policy. We are not responsible for the availability or accuracy of data provided by Plaid or your financial institutions.
7. Acceptable use
Do not misuse the App: no attempting to access other users’ data, reverse-engineering beyond what the law permits, interfering with the service, or using it for any unlawful purpose.
8. Disclaimers
The App is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the data shown will be complete or accurate.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mindful Finance will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from financial decisions made using the App.
10. Termination
You may stop using the App and delete your data at any time. We may suspend or end the service, or these Terms, where reasonably necessary.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be reflected by a new effective date and, where appropriate, surfaced in the App. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
